You’re not fighting this battle alone!

Do the following when your Blood Sugar is low

If your blood sugar is lower than 70 mg/dL, do one of the following immediately:

  • Take four glucose tablets.
  • Drink four ounces of fruit juice.
  • Drink four ounces of regular soda, not diet soda.
  • Eat four pieces of hard candy.

Learn your different signs and symptoms so you can identify and manage low blood sugar early. Even if you are symptom-free, check your blood sugar if you have any reason to believe it may be low. Low blood sugar is very harmful and needs to be treated right away.

Do the following when your Blood Sugar is high

When your blood sugar is over over 180 – 200 mg/dL, please do this:

  • Exercise Regularly
  • Take your prescribed medication as instructed
  • Change your diet by starting and adhering to a diabetes meal plan.
  • Check your blood sugar as directed by your doctor. Check more often if you’re sick or if you’re concerned about high or low blood sugar.
